How to use voice comments
Voice comments are a quick and personal way to leave feedback without typing. Whether you're reviewing a mix, sharing creative direction, or giving notes on timing, recording a voice message can save time and add clarity. Voice comments work similarly to text comments but are recorded and sent as audio messages. Hereโs how to get started:
Step 1. Start recording
When the message input field is empty, the microphone icon appears in place of the paper plane (send) icon.
To begin recording:
Click the Record audio button.
The comment interface will switch to recording mode.
A red recording dot will appear on the right, along with a live timer showing the recording duration.
You will also see two new buttons:
The Cancel button discards the recording.
The Done button ends the recording and prepares it for sending.
Step 2. Preview and send
Once you press Done, your recorded voice message will appear in the comment field.
You can now:
Listen to your recording.
Adjust the volume using the volume control.
Delete it with the trash can icon if you want to re-record.
When you're ready, hit the Submit comment button (the paper plane icon) to send.
How voice comments work
Voice comments appear in the comment timeline just like text comments. You can leave voice comments:
Without a timestamp (as a general message)
Pinned to a specific time in the track (e.g. 01:00)
Pinned to a time range (e.g. 01:00 โ 01:30)
Replies can also be recorded as voice messages using the same method directly in the reply box.
Note: Mobile web shareable links and the mobile app currently do not support recording or playback of voice comments. Instead, these appear as: Audio message
.
Limits by plan
Free plan: Voice messages can be up to 30 seconds long.
Pro and higher plans: Recordings can be up to 5 minutes long.
Note: On shared files, all users are limited to 30 seconds per voice message.
