Private comments let you securely share information between project admins and owners without exposing it to all team members. This is ideal for sensitive notes, internal feedback, or decision-making discussions.

Private comments are:

  • Visible only to users with the admin or owner role.

  • Marked with a purple highlight and lock icon before the commenter’s name.

  • On waveform audio, displayed with a purple ring around the commenter’s avatar.

💡Note: The Private Comments feature is available on the Team plan.

How to post a private comment

Follow the steps below to post a private comment:

Step 1. Navigate to the file where you want to leave a comment (audio, video, or image).

Step 2. Select the spot for your comment. In Pibox, you can add time-stamped comments (with or without a range) or leave general comments without timestamps. The example below shows a selected area on a track.

Step 3. Select the comment type. Choose your preferred format (text comment or voice comment) and type in your comment.

Step 4. Switch to private mode. By default, comments are set to To all users. To make it private:

  1. Click the comment visibility button.

  2. In the pop-up, choose For admins.

  3. The comment field will turn purple, indicating it’s private.

Step 5. Click Submit comment. Your note will now be visible only to project admins and owners.

Step 6. Return to normal mode (optional). To post a public comment again, change the setting back to To all users.
