The File Request feature allows you to receive music 24/7 directly into a designated folder on the Pibox interface. Simply send the link to your contacts, and they can upload their files directly to your folder, ensuring everything goes exactly where you want it. This link is accessible on both web and mobile platforms. The File Request feature is available with the Pro plan.
How to upload a file using the File Request feature
When users open the link, they’ll see a window where they can instantly upload files. They can either drag and drop files into the window or click the Upload files button to select files from their folder. Once a file is selected, the window will update to show the chosen files. To upload more files, they can simply repeat the same process.
Once all the desired files are selected, they can choose from the following options:
Rename the selected file – If notice a mistake in the file name, click the Rename button and enter the correct name.
Delete selected files – If selected the wrong file, click the X icon next to it to delete it.
After the user confirms that all files are correct, they will need to provide some personal information. The user will be asked to enter their email and full name for easy communication. If the user is already registered with Pibox, they will be asked to enter a password instead of their full name. After entering all the required information, click Continue to complete the authorisation process.
After confirming the upload by clicking the Confirm upload button, the files will be uploaded to Pibox, with an indication whether the upload was successful or not.
Note: The session on the same device is saved for convenience, making future uploads easier. Simply select the file and confirm the upload.
How to create and customize the File Request
To create an File Request, you’ll need a folder. For convenience, we recommend starting with an empty folder. Once your folder is created, click on it to view the available options, then click the File Request button.
Note: Anyone can create an File Request, except Guests.
The Manage file request modal window will open. To create a link, simply click the Access switch button. Once the link is generated, copy it and send it to users. You can disable the link at any time by toggling the switch off.
In the Manage file request modal window, you'll also find some more settings for the link, similar to those of the Shareable links. Below are the available settings:
Expiration – Set an expiration time for the link. Once this time is reached, the link will no longer be active.
Display files in chat – When enabled, each uploaded file will be displayed in the chat.
Description – Add a description to the link. Users who open the link will be able to view this text, allowing you to provide details about the files you want them to upload or any other information.
You can view the link information under the Links tab, just like with your Shareable links.
